It's NOT the PW11. It's the PW5. The problem is that if you start changing the proper abbreviation, you will confuse some.

No idea if the PW5 will get a new firmware when it released again.

Oh and you really should update the video (in the actual video at the beginning) that 5.19.3 has been pulled. Putting it in the description won't help everyone who watches it because not everyone reads the description. I know I don't always read it.

that's fair enough, changed to explicitly say pw gen11

None of the abbreviations are official. It just what they've been called based on the Kindle model. PW1 to PW6. IMHO, it's actually easier to know which Paperwhite you are talking about when you use PW5 then PW Gen 11.

I tried to update my PW SE (12 generation) and only the previous file was available (5.19.2). According to https://goodereader.com/blog/kindle/...version-5-19-3 Amazon is now trying to fix the fast drainage of the battery and sluggishness of de UI after upgrading to 5.19.3.

I agree, though I'd prefer going all the way back to 5.18.6 to avoid all the bugs added in 5.19.2. (5.19 and 5.19.1 were Scribe 2025 exclusive AFAIK)

Anyone willing to share copies of the update bin files of 5.19.3? The people working on jailbreak want them, they already have Paperwhite 12th, basic Kindle 2024, and Scribe 2022.

Besides, do you really think others will want to install a firmware that causes a battery drain?

Sadly I deleted my 5.19.3 after installing it.

I don't have a battery drain btw. It's either reindexing related (I have very few books on my kindle), specific to a model or "internet chatter".

I'm not very familiar with the jailbreak space, but I feel there could be multiple reasons they would still want it anyway, maybe looking at a newer firmware gives hints about an exploit in an older one.

Most do not have 5.19.3. So trying to jailbreak it is a worthless task. Just wait for the next firmware and try to jailbreak that.

And it could be that a jailbreak is found and the next firmware, that exploit i patched. So all that effort would be for nothing.

No, it is not worthless. Anyone running 5.19.2 could manually update to 5.19.3 and then jailbreak. Once done the jailbreak should persist through future firmware updates or downgrades (possible via the jailbreak) due to the hotfix.

The effort isn’t wasted. Exploits are always patched once Amazon finds out about them.
