Question about "Newly added" books
Is there a parameter in calibre that allows you to change the "Newly added..." list of books on your calibre server website? I've asked a similar question before, but got no real answer. No matter which of my libraries I add books to, the only books shown in the "Newly added..." part of my home page is from my "Standard Ebooks" library. Just wondering if this can be changed.

How does one set the default library? I have 5 physical libraries under /home/kevin/Calibre: Books Comics Linux Magazines Magazines Standard Ebooks The library that calibre ALWAYS lists "Newly added..." books from is the "Standard Ebooks" library, even though I more recently added books to my "Books" library. The same thing happens even if I stop and restart calibre using the "Books" library as my current library on startup. It's a minor quibble, to be sure, I'm just wondering how it works, and if I can change the behavior. |

Same here. I was just taking a stab.
The only content server config I found is what libraries a USER is allowed to see. FWIW I have 3 books show up as Recent. 2 of the ARE (added a few days ago). All in my (currently used) MainLib. But the third ?? I added on 18 Nov 2016, last_Modified Yesterday (along with many more and those do not appear) Where did it get the NEW status

So, I've been starting the calibre server automatically when I start calibre, and the "Newly added..." list only shows books from my "Standard Ebooks" library. When I start the server from the terminal with the command calibre-server /home/kevin/Calibre/Books, the "Newly added..." list shows the most recent 3 books in my "Books" library, but "Books" is the only library I can choose from the home page. I assume it'll be the same no matter which library folder I use as the path. When I just use the command calibre-server /home/kevin/Calibre/, I get the message There is no calibre library at: /home/kevin/Calibre/.

You have to include the name the Library when you use the commandline/ which is why the last failed.
I suspect you need additional options like --enable users or the userdb (which grants rights) But I think the commandline is a Per Library mode (the way it used to be. with each Library having its own port as well ) |

If you are running the server from the calibre GUI all known libraries are automatically available. ANd whatever library you have open in the GUI becomes the "main" library for newest added.
