My sister now has four boys and I have one -- so yes, that makes five! I don't think she is planning anymore, boys are nice, and who need to buy pretty pink dresses anyway?! (Oh well.)

Boys in our family tend to be quite tall and thin, but they are big at birth (he was smaller than the others!)

You have to convince yourself that it wouldn't have been better in the theater. With three kids and working, it never seemed like we had the time to go to the movies. Now, the nearest movie theater is 1/2 hour away, so it just seems easier to wait until the movie is out on DVD to see it.

We tried to go see Star Trek at one of the Smithsonian's IMAX theaters the day the movie came out. Not thinking it through, of course, it was sold out until the next week! My older 2 kids went to a late night show (not IMAX) and loved it.

Star Trek in an IMAX theatre would be excellent! My son would love to go see it as well, but he is only 9 yrs, so I have said he will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Very wise! I can't tell you how many of my elementary school students have told me about movies they've watched that I wouldn't have let my high school aged children watch (they are actually in college now - no wait, Shannon had her last exam yesterday, so she's actually a grad)! Horror movies, R-rated movies, etc. I don't know why I am always surprised, but I am. I guess it's the optomist in me!

Many of the nursery children I work with have seen some pretty scary films which just aren't suitable for 4 and 5 year olds. And then their parents complain when their children wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares.

Currently: Watching Richard Dawkins' Lecture to the American Atheists (09) with Q&A. There are some other good videos as well linked in to the event. Well worth a watch.

The yeti was premature by about 6 weeks (I think), and was very small when he was born. He's now 6'7". His sister is really hoping her twins (who were even more prem than he was) don't grow anywhere near as tall!
