Tolino Shine 3 drama and possible KOreader help

Hi,

I originally purchased a tolino shine 3 because stupid AI hallucinated (I know I am probably the stupid one for asking AI for help with buying a budget second hand e-reader ) that the tolino shine 3 could use KOBO OS. As I am sure everyone here already knows this is absolutely not true. So I am trying to make the best out of a "bad" situation.

Originally I thought i would use it normally as stock but it keeps giving me "an error has occured and all actions have been aborted" errors, is this likely that the SD card is failing? are there any images of the card available?

Also I wanted to try and get some more funtionality by installing KOreader (I use calibre for my library) but the allesebook tolino page 2 guide for rooting and install is written for firmware 15.3.2 (I am on 15.2.0) - is there any way to get ahold of older firmware updates? And is this still the defacto guide to use? the stupid AI is what lead me to both this forum and the allesebook guide so as I am sure you understand I am slightly skeptical of everything it says and would really just like some help from real humans.

Any help with any of these things would be greatly appreciated.
