Bookshop.org Survey on Hypothetical Ereader

I received a survey request from Bookshop.org the other day and decided to participate. Lo and behold, it was about a hypothetical ereader. Grabbed a screen cap of the prompt since it was a relatively interesting spec list. Slightly disappointed to see a color screen, but at the same time, this is would be a pretty interesting move for them and might be an attractive options for folks that want to support their local bookstore with ebook purchases.

What do you all think, would this be enough to capture your interest?

Surely 16 GB of RAM seems wildly optimistic in this day and age for an e-reader, even a very hypothetical one.

It sounds like a potentially better colour device than what we have now, but it also sounds like a rather unrealistic (for the next few years at least? how close is Gallery 4 to reality?) wish list.

Bookshop.org is US-only, I think, so not of any actual use to me in any case (I’d assume that even with their open Android etc, if the store is US-only, they wouldn’t market or sell the device internationally either).

Ebookwise, anyone?

And what's the name of that website - not a bookstore, thank god - that steals news from Mobileread and posts it without any attribution? You know, that site prone to wild delusions of grandeur mixed with elements of fantasy....

Didn't they put out an ebook reader (or tablet) with squirrelly software?

Ah, thanks. I recall looking at it once and then seemed it was just for US customers (and bookshops only in the US), so I didn’t look further.

Same. I couldn't help but be intrigued, especially with that form factor. Although with a supposed kobo integration on the way, that might end up the best option.

Haha, that is indeed bordering on cartoonish. I wonder if those bloated specs are the plan to contend with Gallery 4 that might have improved refresh rates or if it just reflects a desire to handle more android OS and app demands.
