The Mini-PC I have does not use soldered RAM. It takes up to 64GB. However, I got it before the price rose and the amount of RAM dropped.

I usually don't fight that much with windows.
I used to have a triple monitor setup and just moved what I wanted to a fill a single monitor.
Now that I've "downscaled" to a single 29" (flat) 2560 x 1080 I just slide a few windows over until I can simultaneously see everything.
On those occasions where I need things exactly set up I use a utility.
To view the webcam on my 3D printer I issue a single command that opens a new browser window that goes to a URL, sizes and moves to the upper right corner.
If you have "presets" you like you should look up some utility.
I'd post mine but I'd have to write up the documentation.

Question MS OneNote Templates
When I try to open all templates: Insert>Page Templates>Page Templates to get the Templates sidebar in OneNote, I get bupkis, nada, nil. I've tried the fast repair of Office, the online repair of Office, restarted my PC, bupkis!

I have my life tied up in OneNote... all my book stuff, and most especially all my reviews that number close to 1K. Please don't tell me how stupid I am to rely on this old (and apparently never really updated) software. I have a subscription to Microsoft 365, so I really don't want another subscription. However, if you can suggest another flat database that will allow me to transfer my OneNote data to it, I'm all ears.

I have a Dell Optiplex with an Intel Core i7-8700 CPU, 32 GB RAM, 64 bit, running Windows 11 that has all updates installed.

Before using OneNote, I used Evernote. In checking it out now, I find it to be a bit pricy for this retiree.

There is no way Tai Chi can bulk up a man like the adverts claim. Yes it's good exercise and it works to keep muscles in shape. But you do not bulk up like that.

I also had a recent problem with ON Templates, I'm sure they changed how they worked. Since resolved - unsure if it was something I did or they did.

Not sure what you mean by 'never really updated'. My biggest peeve with ON is that it seems to change every damn week - some changes are good, others not so good.

I had a look at ON alternatives last year, didn't find anything suitable. Pasting ON page links into other applications (calibre, quodlibet etc) and vice versa are a must have for me. All of the alternatives either lacked the ability to do that, or they coughed up HTML links, or their links were 'for internal use only'

I'm new to all this OneNote stuff.
Have you considered just making this a (private) Wiki?
You get all your data in a real database of your choice.
It gives you full history and updatable templates.
It might take some effort to migrate but you end up on a free platform.
