Neon Ichiban was created by ex-Comixology people. From what I gather, sometimes they offer DRM-free stuff, but I doubt the DC stuff is.
They also sell NFT-like collectible "special covers". I'll pass.

I took a peek at Fables Vol 1 on the site, and it was not downloadable. I wasn't sufficiently motivated to check the other Vertigo titles I was interested in.

Like you, I'm passing. TBH, it's not a particularly good deal. Besides, didn't Bill Willingham release Fables to public domain?

I'm not wild on this Remarque thing (the artist is digitally signing my comic cover, I guess?), but I suppose it's there to try to attract some artists to the platform. I see that Dave Gibbons has volunteered a couple.

Nothing I want is Downloadable either, but I do at least appreciate that it's clearly marked before I buy the thing. I will at least keep an eye on it.

Kinda strange that Dark Horse has not enabled downloads, given that you used to be able at least to download directly from their website...

Love and Rockets is one of the all-time greatest comics and this collection includes everything including one-shots and spin-offs.

Eiichiro Oda's manga One Piece volumes 1–13 and some others later in the series are $2 each on Amazon.com.

The price has taken a few days to update on the series, so maybe more will be discounted soon.

I notice that Peanuts hasn't been posted in this thread since 2019, but WTH...

There's a new Humble Bundle out which supposedly includes every Peanuts comic book and strip, courtesy of Fantagraphics. At the top tier, of course, which is $25. I'm not much of a comics person, but do have fond memories of Peanuts from my (much) younger days. It says these are PDF versions and they are for "use on any device". Since I don't follow comics as e-books much, is PDF format really usable? I don't have a color e-reader, but do have a tablet that probably should work? Anyway, I'm sure everyone on here is more expert about reading comics on e-devices than I am, so interested in your opinions.

I only read comics on a tablet, but yes, PDFs would be perfectly fine. With comics, each page is an image, so there's not really an advantage to ePub as there would be with a novel.

Gou Tanabe's famous manga adaptions of H.P. Lovecraft works all seem to be on sale for various amounts.
