Ereaders are a Godsend When You have Rheumatoid Arthritis

I have rheumatoid arthritis which affects my hands. I find that my ereader (Kindle) is a complete godsend for me because holding a physical book would be painful. Yes, you use your hands for an ereader but I find they do not create much of a burden on them they way a book does. I know audiobooks are an alternative but I don’t always want to be that removed from what is around me.

Good for basic osteoarthritis too. Also nice to have, bluetooth page turners. I do not know if those work with Kindles, but they work well with my Kobos.

Parkinsons too. It affects my ability to hold book open without dropping.

And for those people (such as myself) who don't want to carry the Dalkey Archive Press edition of Miss MacIntosh, My Darling (and other such similar titles of weight and inconvenience) when settling down in a coffee shop with a Cappuccino in one hand, the ebook reader in another hand, and something to eat in my third hand.

Add my wife to the list. She has Psoriatic Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

I enjoy reading with the Lexend font better than publisher fonts. My reading speed goes up between 10-20%. And it's easy to load the font on an eReader, and it's free.

Now, if only I could get a 7" b&w KOBO.
