EPUB Images View plugin
I'm a Sigil user from China. In my work, I often need to quickly browse images in e-books. Unfortunately, Sigil does not provide a quick browsing feature. Therefore, I used AI to develop this plugin, which works both in version 0.9.10 and the latest version 2.7.5. Plugin Function: Displays thumbnail grids of images within an EPUB in a new window. Open Source Address: https://github.com/cndxflwb/Sigil-Pl...95%A5%E5%9B%BE I have packaged the plugin installation files, which you can download and use directly. Since I don't know how to program myself, this plugin may lag noticeably when dragging the scrollbar if the book contains many images. If you know how to fix it, please clone this repository, make the necessary fixes, or add more features such as sorting by resolution or size. EPUBImagesView_v0.2.zip |

Note that the contents of the name field in the plugin.xml file must match the internal folder name of of the plugin (which is EPUBImagesView) exactly. Otherwise the plugin will not launch. After fixing the plugin.xml name field to match and restarting Sigil. The plugin seemed to run fine for me.

Actually, Sigil can already show you a user controlled thumbnail table of all images in the EPUB. Simply hit the insert image tool in the toolbar, and that table is built on the fly for you. You can use the + or - buttons at the bottom of the screen to adjust the thumbnail size.

Thanks for your reminder, I have modified the code on GitHub and updated the zip installation package.

When using the "Insert" function, there is a problem when browsing pictures: Open an EPUB, its cursor is on the first line, and if you want to click on the picture of this function, you will be prompted "You cannot insert images here." In other words, I need to move the cursor inside the element after opening EPUB<body>.

Yes that is how it was designed to work. It is a simple click to position the cursor.
You can also get all thumbnails in the Images Reports which is generated by Sigil's Reports Tool. You can also right click on any image in BookBrowser to see any image you want. |

FWIW: If you open an EPUB with the Honeyview comic viewer, it will find the Images folder in the zip and let you browse it:
I imagine other CB viewers can do the same. BR |

I can't fathom a job that requires checks of 100's of books a day and expect the person to spot issues other than missing images. I touch up my PERSONAL collection. A clean (well done) book only takes me a couple of minutes. I remove some items from the contents I adjust the CSS margins and indent to MY liking. I use the Calibre editor (each has features that I prefer) to manipulate images: Shrink all except Maps and charts (Those I want the fine details), rotate to match the screen shape orientation . |

For me, Sigil 2.7.5 opens the latest Sigil user guide more or less instantaneously. Tools-Reports (Ctrl+Shift+R) takes about 15 seconds (progress bar showing) before the Reports window pops.
The EPUB is stored on an internal SATA 3 6Gb/s, 4TB WD Caviar Black HDD, Sigil's Prefs and Temp are on a Samsung 256 GB NVMe SSD. BR |
