Besides the introduction in the first and ninth volumes, here are a few more posts by Adrian Tchaikovsky summarizing all the books:
Cook's Books
Cook's Books part 2

And an introduction by China Miéville for an older edition of The Walrus & the Warwolf: In Praise of Stupid Boys.

Kill the Beast by Serra Swift is $3 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
The Witcher meets Howl’s Moving Castle in this debut original faerie tale of revenge, redemption, and friendship—for fans of T. Kingfisher, Naomi Novik, and cozy fantasy with a dash of gritty adventure.

The night Lyssa Cadogan's brother was murdered by a faerie-made monster known as the Beast, she made him a promise: she would find a way to destroy the immortal creature and avenge his death. For thirteen years, she has been hunting faeries and the abominations they created. But in all that time, the one Beast she is most desperate to find has never resurfaced.

Until she meets Alderic Casimir de Laurent, a melodramatic dandy with a coin purse bigger than his brain. Somehow, he has found the monster’s lair, and—even more surprising—retrieved one of its claws. A claw Lyssa needs in order to forge a sword that can kill the Beast.

Alderic is ill-equipped for a hunt and almost guaranteed to get himself killed. But as the two of them search for the rest of the materials that will be the Beast's undoing, Alderic reveals hidden depths: dark secrets that he guards as carefully as Lyssa guards hers. Before long, and against Lyssa's better judgment, an unlikely friendship begins to bloom—one that will either lead to the culmination of Lyssa's quest for vengeance, or spell doom for them both.

Just now used my VPN to purchase the 39 Terry Pratchett titles from the Humble Bundle package, but after using my code, I see only 34 titles listed.

I went back and counted them, and sure enough only 34 titles are listed to 'Select'. (In other words, the total to select did not have 39 titles.)

Any idea on how to get those 5 remaining titles - which I paid for when I bought the 39-deal package?

Redeemed through Kobo? Do you happen to already have those 5 titles in your Kobo library? Seems like I just got duplicates with previous bundles when that was the case. But I don't know.

Yes, redeemed through Kobo.

I did a search on "Books", and I do not own any additional Terry Pratchett titles.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

My normal account is listed as an address in the UK, and the Humble Bundle package is not even listed, based upon my being in Peru. (I actually have dual residency: both the U.S. and Peru, but my current residence is in Peru.)

So I used a VPN in order to have the package available in order to purchase them, which I did.

Discussion in the mystery bargain thread indicates that there's a bug with the Hillerman bundle, and not all the titles will appear on the redemption page. You have to refresh over and over until the missing books show up. Perhaps the Pratchett redemption page is also broken?

I had a similar issue with the Hillerman bundle: 30 books, only 27 available to select. They reset my code and eventually I was able to download all 30. The second time I got 28 books including 2 of the missing titles, but after refreshing the page I got 30 books. There seems to be an issue with generating the selection page.

However, I was able to redeem the Pratchett bundle with no issues.

Cross-posted to Horror.

The Works of Vermin by Hiron Ennes is $3 on Amazon.com DRM-free (Kobo is still full price, and while it's still price-matchable, the deal ends in 2.5 hours, so you'll need to take a screenshot and convince them it's real, etc)
Was on my wishlist since it's highly regarded (Zachary Gillan @ Ancillary Book Review, Niall Harrison @ Locus, Paul Di Filippo @ Locus)
Quote:
He was sent to kill a pest. Instead, he found a monster.

One of BookPage's Most Anticipated SFF & Horror of Fall 2025

Enter the decadent, deadly city of Tiliard, a metropolis carved into the stump of an ancient tree. In its canopy, the pampered elite warp minds with toxic perfume; in its roots, gangs of exterminators hunt a colossal worm with an appetite for beauty.

In this complex, chaotic city, Guy Moulène has a simple goal: keep his sister out of debt. For her sake, he'll take on any job, no matter how vile.

As an exterminator, Guy hunts the uncanny creatures that crawl up from the river. These vermin are all strange, and often dangerous. His latest quarry is different: a centipede the size of a dragon with a deadly venom and a ravenous taste for artwork. As it digests Tiliard from the sewers to the opera houses, its toxin reshapes the future of the city. No sane person would hunt it, if they had the choice.

Guy doesn't have a choice.

Lives of Bitter Rain (The Tyrant Philosophers 2.5) by Adrian Tchaikovsky is £1 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)
Novella. These books are technically all standalone.
Quote:
City-by-city, kingdom-by-kingdom, the Palleseen have sworn to bring 'Perfection' and 'Correctness' to an imperfect world. But before these ruthless Tyrant Philosophers send in their legions, they despatch Outreach – the rain before the storm.

Outreach is that part of the Pal machine responsible for diplomacy - converting enemies into friends, achieving through words what an army of five thousand could not, urging the oppressed to overthrow the bloody-handed priests, evil necromancers and greedy despots that subjugate them.

Angilly, twelve-years-old, a child of Pal soldiers stationed in occupied Jarokir, does not know it yet, but a sequence of accidents and questionable life choices will lead her to Outreach. As she travels from Jarrokir to Bracinta, Cazarkand, Lemas, The Holy Regalate of Stouk and finally, Usmai, she'll learn that the price of her nation's success is paid in compromise and lost chances, and that the falling rain will always be bitter.

Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb Series #1) by Tamsyn Muir is $3 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
The Emperor needs necromancers.

The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman.

Gideon has a sword, some dirty magazines, and no more time for undead nonsense.

Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap off the page, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy.

Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse. She packs up her sword, her shoes, and her dirty magazines, and prepares to launch her daring escape. But her childhood nemesis won’t set her free without a service.

Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and bone witch extraordinaire, has been summoned into action. The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will be become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon’s sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die.

Of course, some things are better left dead.
