I drink instant coffee. I'll admit it, I'm a philistine.
In America I drink Folgers which comes in a clear plastic jar. In Germany Jakobs "Krönung" is highly regarded. It comes in a completely overblown heavy glass jar with an opening barely bigger than a spoon and a goofy square screw-on cap. The down-market Rewe "Ja" comes in a lighter glass jar, wider opening and a goofy rectangular screw-on cap. I've decided that henceforth I will buy the "Ja" coffee and decant it into a reused plastic peanut butter jar with a round screw-on cap. |

My sister managed to break off one of the shower knobs (when squeegeeing the wall she knocked off the hand shower and it fell on the knob) on Monday morning. So we've been washing ourselves at the sink, and yesterday we went to our parents' place to get a proper shower.
Today someone came to take a look. Luckily he was able to find the inner thing that broke off and it is in stock, so tomorrow he'll come by to change it and hopefully it'll fit and we should be able to shower again. Just one more night of washing at the sink, hopefully. I usually take my shower in the late afternoon or early evening, and I especially miss showering after working all day. Keeping my fingers crossed that the replacement set will fit. |

People who think it's normal to say things like, "we needed a little more snow to cover up all of the dirt and mud."

I've got my second cold in three weeks.
On Friday I had a bit of an irritated throat, but by 10am (I start at 8am) I was suddenly feeling feverish and just not well. I went home and it turned out not to be linked to my throat but to something I ate the day before. On Saturday I woke up with a full blown cold and feeling not well; most because of blocked sinuses and an itchy throat, though that got better during the day. Yesterday I was feeling a lot better, my sinuses had cleared, still a bit of a runny nose and sore throat but I was sure I was able to go work today. Which isn't the case, I just had to call in sick. I spent all night coughing, a combination of an itchy throat and phlegm that just wouldn't want to be coughed up easily. No OTC medicine for various types of coughs worked, until I took something for a sore throat. That stopped the coughing mostly. But when laying down, even in a more upright position my throat my all kinds of noises, wheezing, clicking, bubbling, etc, which prevented me from falling asleep. Because of all the coughing I also lost my voice. So I had to call in sick, I can't work on two nights of barely any sleep and no voice. Besides being tired and having no voice I'm feeling fine, my throat isn't even that sore. Today I'm expecting an order from the drugstore with more cough things, hopefully one will work. And now that I'm up and about (no use staying in bed right now) the phlegm seems to want to finally shift. My drink of choice will be hot camomile tea with honey today. This cold is progressing fairly quickly so I'm hoping I'll feel good enough tomorrow to go to work. |

But I've heard from multiple people that they also have a lingering cough, so it's just waiting for it to go away. Annoyingly I haven't been able to smell anything since last Saturday. I do get that quickly when I have a cold/flu but it usually doesn't last any longer than three or four days. Although it does have it's perks when on Friday something was stinking up a storage area at work. |

Sounds like what I had a few months ago, started with runny nose & sinus congestion, then a very persistent cough that hung around for 6 weeks or more. But no sore throat, head ache, loss of appetite etc… sort of weird.
Pretty sure I caught what ever it was when I was in hospital for a couple of days getting a new pacemaker implant. |

I got Covid in September and I had a cough for six weeks or so, which just suddenly stopped.
Had a good night. When I sleep on my left side I sleep fine, when I turn to my right side I eventually start to make noise when breathing. The coughing has lessened, though I'll have to see how it goes when I'm at work (air-conditioning). I'm also not hoarse anymore, so that's great, it's so tiring when having to talk to customers all day. |
