When this happens, the best way to deal (if possible) is to ban all non-members until this goes away.

My home IP has been blocked for a few days now by hetzner.com, and judging by the number of active users, there's another attack.

I see no evidence of a ddos attack against MR in the last few days. IP's get blocked all the time because bad actors and bad bots. It doesn't require an organized massive attack for that to happen.

I do know that hetzner.com getting blocked has happened previously. The problem is that a lot of ISPs don't keep access logs long enough for MR to find out what the exact behavior is that might be triggering the automated blocks.

We really don't need a play-by-play on the guest counts. It's going to be what it's going to be. There can be brief slowdowns without an attack.

With Currently Active Users: 115077 (36 members and 115041 guests), I'm finding an occasional slowness. Nothing that's making the site unusable.

There has been a DDOS attack going on since this morning. I've let Alex know. Some people might be more affected by slowness than others.

Over 100,000 users just now, which is WAY more than we usually have.

The site is now running without any slowdown.
