I am a HUGE admirer of Clark Ashton Smith.

On the postface of the book I'd read there is a mention about "The Voyage of King Eurovan", edited by the "Weird Tales" 'director, published on Arkham House, which differs from the original (named as "The Quest of Gazoba") which was published by Ashton independently as "The Double Shadow".

Further I've read "Cloak of Aesir" by John W. Campbell, Jr.; as published in here translated in 1977, there are several greetings from the authors he knew.
Liked it so much, if I may say one -not asked- opinion, it seemed quite male-centric; but it was the 1938 and did read plenty of praises on preface and postface, thought mine would not to look too as critic (just a "but").
Now on "Davy" by Edgar Pangborn, and a book about cats, which is not translated.
Ps: took others books from Campbell and Leigh Brackett at the public library, btw.

Leigh Brackett died in 1978. Those stories are most likely only in the public domain in USA.

Depending on publication dates, they might be in the public domain in countries following the rules of the shorter term. Working that out is complex.

I finished the audio of Lady Joker as well as Xiaolu Guo's Call Me Ishmaelle. Now the list looks like:

• Audio - Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde (190 pages)

Finished California Bones by Greg Van Eekhout.

This was fun. Fast pace and exciting story about an alternate Southern California where eating bones from the La Brea tar pits give some people unusual abilities. Great characters. Vivid imagery. Unique. This hit all my boxes for an enjoyable satisfying read. There are two more books in the series. So happy. Rated A- [4 stars].

I think that was the first Nancy Drew book. I read some of them in the 1950s.

Yes, this is the first Nancy Drew. It just went Public Domain.

swiftly followed by No Man's Land Vol.3

A most enjoyable story.

Next up was Translation State by Ann Leckie. A story of someone coming into their own. But the profusion of pronouns was a little confusing.

Then a random pick, Fables by Robert Louis Stevenson. A strange mixture of very short shorts. Some were good, many were weird. I suspect I've missed a lot of implications.

Next up is another random pick: Some of the Best of Tor.com 2020 by various authors. So far so good.
