Don’t upgrade to iOS 26.2, Marvin stopped working. I’m hoping the next iOS update will sort it and I will update people here. Happened before.

Man, I wish I would have read this a few days ago. I ran the 26.2 update and it killed Marvin.

The only good thing is that I did a recent export of Marvin. If you change the extension to .zip (Windows), you can extract it and see all your epubs and a database that (I think) contains the information on which collection each book is in.

Man, what a pain in the butt

I can confirm that Marvin will not work on 26.2. I ran an iOS beta update for 26.3 and can confirm that Marvin will not work on that update either. It looks as if Marvin is finally gone I could downgrade to iOS 18 but it's too much hassle for just one app I'm afraid.

That sucks, homeslice. Do you have a recent backup? Now I’m forced to move everything to the least sh!tty alternative I found (BookFusion - subscription). I had originally intended to create BF virtual bookshelves for each Marvin collection, but I never anticipated that Apple would completely kill Marvin.

I'm definitely not interested in a subscription to read my books. I already have a subscription to get books...KU... Everything is getting subscriptioned to death and it ends up being a ton of money without you ever remembering that you are paying for stuff!!

Cantook is a free reader...although it has some bugs it is being updated. And it has pretty decent catalog/OPDS support!!

I finally got around to extract both 2 and 3 versions of Marvin, I had Marvin 2 working on my iPad Mini 6 and Marvin 3 in my iPhone 13.

Now they are both installed in old iPad 7 that does not get updates anymore, it is stuck on 18.5 from now on.

I guess I'll try to find a (cheap) iPad mini 5 next, make it my main ebook reader since I'm reading at home anyways. I knew I had a reason I never got around to sell that old iPad

Hoping OP or someone could help. I just opened Marvin3 today, 2/20/26, and found out it no longer opens at all. Crash on startup. I knew it was no longer supported but it kept running. Sad.

But what I really don't want to lose is all the journal notes on book quotes and things I made. Does anyone know how to access them? I've never exported from Marvin before. I installed imazing to see if i could find a settings file, but I can't seem to. Any help appreciated.
