A comment, just in case the plugin doesn't work for somebody at calibre 9. It looks like the change of python code in calibre has created a new folder inside the plugin folder "gr_author_notes-libs-py3.14" but it hasn't copied all the libraries. After copying the content from the previous one to this new folder, everything is working fine.

I have two folders: gr_author_notes-libs-py3.11 and gr_author_notes-libs-py3.14. I understand that what you're saying would be to copy the files from 3.11 to 3.14.

Attached version contains 2 fixes:

- packaging cleaned up: excluded unused .pyc files present in previous .100 version
- language code field: on Windows I was seeing an issue when typing the language code, and the typed input not being displayed.

tested on Windows, calibre 8 and 9
