Ony Note Max - Ghosting fixed with 4.1?

Hi,

is the Ony Note Max ghosting problem fixed with the new 4.1firmware?

It seems not from what I've read on Reddit. In a couple of days I'll have access to my device and I'll test it. But I don't have high hopes..

No progress, still in beta and ghosting still an issue. It's a joke.

Thanks for a speedy reply. This is crazy - I've heard they don't have this issue in Tab XC but at the same time the twin model Note Max suffers from it. Unbelievable.

I just wanted to update from my Sony DPT-S1 and Lumi2 to something more modern since the upcoming black friday deals but nowadays I'm a bit confused and don't know if I wanna and if I decide to do then which model to pick. So silly

Yeah, I use my Note Max all the time, but it's at best a beta device. The ghosting is atrocious and gets in the way when reading documents. I would not recommend it to anyone in its current state.

Yes, the Tab XC has almost no ghosting in the best mode. They did solve it on that tablet.

The Note Max is, IMHO, a discontinued product. It's gone in some e-ink stores and discounted in others.

if that indeed it's the case that I'm kinda in a limbo. From one hand I already bought my first e-reader years after it was discountinued (sony's dpt-s1) and loved it. Then bought lumi2 also after it's prime days. Now I'm kinda cannot decide to buy max note or to wait - any info if onyx is planning something new/a replacement for that model?

I have no insider information, but it seems to me that the Note Max is or will be discontinued soon. It vanished from some online stores and is discounted on others.

Discontinued wouldn't mean that you won't have any more updates, but the focus would be on the next device. And I suspect that the ghosting problems won't be resolved anymore.

My suggestion is you wait a few weeks and then reassess the situation with new information.
