Treating myself to a Dr. Pepper; I think I deserve it after cleaning the shower drain and siphon today. It was even more traumatizing than normal, since my sister has developed eczema and has been using thick shower/bath cream. So besides the normal hair there was a thick layer of white cream coating everything. As long as she's using these products we'll need to clean the drain more often.

Oof-da .... just ventured outside whilst the sun was out - shoved enough snow off the driveway to reach the trash bins (amazing how much piles up when you're trapped indoors) - snow is now wet & heavy - shove not lift. Then broomed off the car and freed the wipers - will let the sun & wind do the rest. I'm exhausted - but thoroughly warm for the first time in 3 days.

Cats ... the final frontier ...
when Pixie was a kitten she had no problem with trimming her nails as she has grown, nail trimming has evolved from fun ... into a game ... into blood sport (my blood) ... into frustration ... so I decided to get a soft neck collar to even the odds I dug out the soft cloth measuring tape to measure her neck - and we discovered a fantastic new cat toy - she went crazy over chasing the tape - especially when I unexpectedly press the retract button - and it vanishes! Now we both get exercise whilst stuck indoors waiting for the snow/ice to melt - running madly through the house trailing the measuring tape over furniture I'm typing this during a time out for fluids and rest ... Who knew? |

Contemplating getting a week off work in April or early May. I don't think I'll go on vacation somewhere for that week, but maybe go on a couple of day trips. Maybe to Antwerp, I want to go visit the Open Air Museum again and maybe visit the big shopping mall in The Hague.
And in September I want to go away for two weeks, book a cottage in a park and just relax. Even after that I still have vacation days left, so I can take a day off here and there. |

After some time I've bought a thermometer which can stand inside the stove's oven (
), and now tried also a leavening basket, a proper bread pot in clay (and its lid), and a new flour (Petra 1111).Ps: the lid has three holes for the steam. Well, still not the alveoli I'd like, and also a little burnt on the bottom, but not too appalling. https://imgur.com/a/SpLQTTR |

I'm checking local election results to see how me and my local staff might be impacted.

I started this morning discovering my favourite pair of jeans was nearly worn through at the thighs. This made me go through the rest of my jeans and trying them on. I ended up with six pairs of jeans that are good to wear, two that are a little of the small side (with the amount of walking a do in a day on my new job I'm losing weight, so I put those at the back of the closet) and two pairs that are way too big for me now. A couple of the ones that fit me alright are also starting to show a little wear, so I'll need to replace those in the near future I'm afraid.
Since I was at it I went through the rest of my clothes and threw out a couple of tops I haven't worn in I can't remember how long and a sweater that was never comfortable. I just ordered a new shirt (to replace one that I threw out because of a hole but was really comfy), two pants that are comfy to wear around the house but a smart enough to wear when out and about and two new bras. It was one of those chores that needed doing but I've been putting off. |

Just went at the public dentist and... it was a great moment:
a) because he did only the check (and didn't touched anything) b) because from when I registered for the reservation has passed just a week, and not 6 months c) (and that was the very magic moment) when he opened a file, the OS was using LibreOffice (so glad when monies that are also mine gets not spent away). *have the last two wisdom tooths to remove btw, so I'll like to feel and act mellow and mature by now .
