Even worse, in many countries there's a law making DRM removal illegal. In the EU, for example (this despite the fact that many EU stores and publishers don't use DRM at all). So governments passing a law against DRM is very unlikely.

EU couldn't pass a law against georestrictions either (there was talk a while back that it might, but the movie industry raised such an outcry that it was never mentioned again).

That law about DRM removal being illegal is not a barrier. It means that with no DRM, no need to remove the DRM and that law can still stand.

When there's a law making DRM removal illegal, it's not likely that the same government will pass a law making DRM use illegal.

They could have a law that makes DRM on eBooks illegal and let DRM stay on things like DVD/Blue-Ray/4K Blu-Ray.

They would not be forcing them to SELL books without DRM. The could PROHIBIT the sale of books containing DRM. There are already a huge amount of things that are prohibited UNLESS the install X, Remove Y, Prevent Z (Hint: Automobiles falls into this pit)

BookFab FANZA Converter: Export FANZA Manga and eBooks to PDF/EPUB

The landing page for their new product is up, but it says "Coming Soon," and why FANZA?

FANZA is DMM's R-18 brand, and since this is for BookFab, I assume they mean FANZA Books. However, while the DMM Books and FANZA Books sites are separate, they use a shared system and viewer, and the DRM is exactly the same.

If they're planning to sell this as a separate product, that's pretty terrible.
