Basically, Jon wants to know if this plugin works with the latest version of calibre and the current calibre beta version plus if it works with the newest Kobo firmware. So nothing to do with koreader sync and everything to do with not wanting to do the minimal work to answer his question.

This plugin works with calibre 8 for sure, and it works with FW 4.44.23552.

I changed from Windows to Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon and installed Calibre again (v. 8.16.2). Device is Kobo Clara 2E. I tried to use the plugin, but receive this message:

The Annotations plugin has not been updated since July 19, 2022. It breaks in the beta for calibre 9. So it would need to be fixed. I don't know who would be willing to give this a go to try to fix it so it works again.

The problem is that the @davidfor (author of this plugin) has passed on. So someone else would have to take one this plugin.

Sincerely, I din't know, since I hadn't used the plugin for a longer time. But happily, the fix hinted to by @aik099 solved the problem! Thank you!

Unless it's fixed again, Annotations will not work with calibre 9.

Confirmed. The plugin itself has vanished. I tried to reload it, but it doesn't even appear on the menu ribbon. What a pity!
