My beloved Clara HD is dying.

I love my Kobo Clara HD but the battery is about to give up the ghost. I bought it in Canada when I was visiting back in 2018. I need a new e-ink 6" reader. I have a basic Kindle - God, I hate it - I bought it so I can read books from authors who persist on self-pubbing on Amazon.

My choice is limited due to not being able to buy many brands locally in Israel where I live. I don't want to order online from overseas, not only because a warranty wouldn't be valid here, but also I would have to pay VAT (if it costs over US$150) and possibly other taxes on the import.

Kindles are available here. The other brand that is easily available is Onyx Boox. I have been looking at the Go6 but a lot of reviews say the battery isn't good, otherwise it's a decent e-reader if you only want to read text based books, which is what I want.

So, before I pay a small fortune for a 6" e-ink Boox Go6, I would like opinions, please.

I have a Boox Go 7 B&W and I like it a lot, and I think you would be happy with it. The battery is fine for a tablet unless you have a problem with plugging it in to charge up when needed.

But I'm looking at the Go 6 which has a different battery to the Go 7. It's also a smaller device. The fact that you like your Go 7 a lot shows that the brand is decent so that helps, thanks. I'm going to a store today to see if I can get a 'hands on' test of the Go 6.
