Stripping Device Specific Lock?

If I get a book from Amazon, the azw3 file is locked to my one specific device. I have the DeDRM plugin installed and working, so I can convert that to mobi, or epub or whatever. But... if I were to convert that azw3 to an azw3 with the DeDRM plugin installed, would that strip the DRM from that file and leave me with a clean azw3 that can be loaded directly to any device?

Any book I load in to calibre, I immediately convert it to azw3, mobi and epub. It will always say that the book is already [current format] and I tell it not to convert it again. But if doing so will strip the file clean, I'm going to go back through ,y library and re-convert all of the azw3s.

The DeDRM plugin works on import. So the azw3/KF8 in the calibre library is already DRM free.
