Forum barely useable due to rate limiting - Page 3

It was over 131000 about half an hour agp and I got lots of timeouts. "Only" 108000 now.

Over 5000 viewing amazon kindle mobileread forum then, "only" 2800 now.

Is this actually intended DDOS or a side effect of AI scraping?

I hope this problem can be resolved soon. I have not been able to use mobileread for weeks. I hope this post gets through.

It worked I am happy.

I have 3 addictions. Photoshop, Books, and Mobileread. My life without mobileread is greatly diminished.

I can open MobileRead but it's slow at times and I get Gateway Timeout errors from nginx on multiple occasions.

Yes, very slow for me as well, and I keep getting "504 Gateway Time-out"

Alex says that things should be back to normal now. The fault that was causing some members to see the rate limiting message has been fixed. Blocks have been put in place for the IPs sending the DDOS attck.

Thanks a lot, 3 weeks it was kinda of difficult to post.
Imho if you admins had to have spend monies for the repairs, (imho) you can post a link if it needs contributes.

This would explain why I had trouble browsing on my tablet and phone, but my computer worked fine (wasn't logged into my account on my phone or tablet). I did notice some slowness occasionally. Looks like everything is fine now.

not sure if its related - but i also have problems accessing mobileread. If i use my mobile connection or a proxy it works - but if i use my normal internet connection at home it always leads to a "network timeout".

It might be that your home IP used to be used by a DDOS setup. If you cannot connect from a particular IP address, do ask one of the mods (e.g. me) to look into it via Private Message. We'll need to know what the IP is and when you tried to access MobileRead.
