Trouble converting Kobo eBook

Hello everyone, first timer here having trouble removing the drm and converting a kobo ebook. I got a japanese ebook from rakuten kobo that i possibly wanted to convert and translate using machine learning and tried extracting it first from the kobo desktop version and converting it there with no luck. Now i tried getting the folder from kobo android and converting that. Calibre recognised the metadata but converted it into a jumbled mess. Im seriously at wits end and i already spend more than enough time than i wanted to, and now im just considering translating each page by screenshotting them but i would love to get someone to help me with this! I attached the original epub.zip folder aswell as the debug log and the converted file. Hope that helps!

Looking at what you posted, this was a Kobo DRMmed ePub. You can no longer remove DRM from books downloaded using the Kobo desktop app. You will need a Kobo ereader to do so.

Hello, thank you very much for that information! Will any Kobo ereader do? I was already planning on getting an e-ink reader, but now it seems like i definitely have to get one

As far as I know, pretty much any Kobo eInk ereader will do.

Probably in-copyright epubs deleted. Please do not upload in-copyright works to MobileRead without the copyright holder's permission.
