Are there any patches to turn off swipe to change pages?

I have the habit of preferring to read along with my index finger. Just a matter of preference and comfort. Of course, this causes unintended page swipes. A workaround that I found is that my device, a Kobo7 Forma, doesn't recognize two-finger swipes, so following the text with two fingers doesn't trigger page swipes. However, this gets tiring and it isn't 100% effective when one finger naturally pulls off the screen.

Any patch that effectively turns off page swipes but leaves double click to swipe on would be a blessing. Does this patch exist? Also, my device does have physical buttons to turn pages, if that information is useful at all.

You can't do this in Nickel, but you can configure KOReader to do this. Nickel only supports swiping and single tapping to change pages. I don't think there's an option or patch to require double tapping.

Thanks. Just to clarify, single tapping would be fine. But, does Nickel support turning swiping off and leaving single tapping on? I know the stock options allow for "Tapping or swiping" or "Swiping only". Is there a way in Nickel to have a third "Tapping only" option?

There is no such patch. Maybe wearing a glove would help?

Another option would be to use a pencil/pen/stick etc. instead of your finger.

Yeah, you could get a plastic stylus with a rounded tip so you don't scratch the screen.

You could ask in the kobopatch request thread for somebody to make a "tapping only" patch, but there's no guarantee that it'll happen.

Something like this is would actually work well. The options for nonconductive finger coverings are silicon, latex, nitrile, and leather. Leather is the least "grippy", has the least friction. I think I give this product a shot. Thanks for the out of the box thinking.

It might benefit the community if someone does create a patch for no swipes, yes taps. I'll leave a request.

Thanks for the help
