** - but which arrow is the question. When a library is opened: ↑ moves to book on the left, ↓ moves to book on the right, → moves to book on shelf below the current one, ← moves to book on shelf above the current one. Now here's the rub… if I click on a book, the arrow keys start working as one would expect: ← moves to book on the left, → moves to book on the right, ↓ moves to book on shelf below the current one, ↑ moves to book on shelf above the current one. In Shelf view, calibre://show-book/ links "don't work" if the show-book target is "out of sight". In List or Grid View, when a show-book link is 'clicked', the list or grid will 'jump' to target book… i.e. make it the currently selected book… and 'scroll' the list or grid to bring the target into View. That second step doesn't happen in Shelf view. The calibre links are in a long text custom column (Links/#links) which is shown in the Book details panel, hence 'clickable'. If you can add inverted color outline to the texts, I think it is readable.

Yes, there was a change requiring a new binary build. Later today.

If we're going to give options for choosing the text color, might as well give this option to as much as possible, which means alsmot everywhere:
now in master https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...8770471daf6e87 Now, alsmot everythings is customizable in the bookshelf view, everythings. Last edited by un_pogaz; Today at 03:54 AM. |

@Kovid, go ahead for the release, I will look if I can do something that is not bad and work, but don't wait me. If this require to be in a Calibre 9.1, fine. Last edited by un_pogaz; Today at 03:58 AM. |

Released version 8.99.9 with changes:
* Bookshelf: Draw long titles on two lines rather that reducing font size if there is no second line and the spine is wide enough * Bookshelf: Allow changing colors of text/divider and making font bold * Bookshelf: Allow customising min and max font sizes * Bookshelf: Fix keyboard handling not correct after switching libraries until the view is clicked on * Bookshelf: Fix current book not scrolled to in some situations |

Update on the outline:
Yeah, no. Not for me. Experimental test show that it work pretty good inded, but correctly align the text in the center of the spine is a too much pain for me at this stade. I'm completly over. Last edited by un_pogaz; Today at 07:07 AM. |

All good. IMO the Group By drop-down should either be in alpha order, or separate builtin and custom columns with a divider line. @anyone- Apart from because you can - why would anyone group by anything other than the primary sort key. I've done it, just because I can, on several libraries and couldn't keep track of where I was. And I kept asking myself the same question - why would I want to take what feels like a random walk through my library… it's tiresome, and I could get lost? If nothing else it warrants a warning - e.g. "Are you sure you want to Sort on Authors and Group on Tags" |
