See message #4 in this thread.
Edit: I've had one person inform me that they tried ordering a battery from AliExpress and shipping to the USA was rather expensive and would be surface only. Last edited by DNSB; 01-02-2026 at 03:17 PM. |

From what one vendor told me, the US dropping the de minimis exemption causes a lot more paperwork making shipping small low value parcels to the US to be more of a pain than they are worth.

Given the price and age of the current Sage, I doubt if I'd buy one even if my H20 gives up the ghost. I notice that Sage is currently showing as "Sold Out" on Kobo (from here in Australia), with no option to put it on backorder, so apparently it is no longer an option anyway. |

Why is Kobo going backwards instead of forwards?

Does the Libra Colour have revisions by the way?
I was thinking they’ve made so many units that they want to sell those first before competing with themselves by releasing new BW devices. |

But a BW device is different. Some don't want a color Reader. I don't want a color Reader. I'd prefer a 7 or 8" Reader with no color overlay.

I see that the Sage is out of stock at Kobo UK. That leaves a huge gap in the B&W market between the Clara BW (6", 174g, £130) and the Elipsa 2E (10.3", 390g, £350). There's no way that I'd be willing to pay as much as £350 for an e-reader. But, now that I've bought a lap rest for mine, weight is less of an issue. I'd quite like something a bit larger than the 6" devices that I've been using for the last 14 (I think) years. In the absence of a Libra BW, I was toying with getting a Sage... until I saw that they're OOS. I suppose that I could get a Boox Go 7 at €250 (they don't seem to have an 8" device), but I prefer the Kobo UI. |
