Why do you want to make it more complicated then it needs to be?

Also, what about the bug I posted? Why isn't it being addressed?

Not entirely convinced to use a env variable to fix it, but oh well that part of be on Linux.

Just to say that it worked fine before, it only from Qt 6.10. Let see if is a general issue or just me.

Oh, a full block. I see how some could prefer that as diveder than just a text with a line.
And for the text, is a doable option (work on that first)

Do you mean that a book with two authors value "Fred Bloggs [translator] & Mary Smith [editor]" should be present in two groups? Present once in "Fred Bloggs [translator]" and a other in "Mary Smith [editor]"?
If so, no, it not possible. Book cannot be duplicated on bookshelf and their grouping is bassed on the first value if the field can contain several (so only "Fred Bloggs [translator]" will take acount in this case).

I'm a bit late to this party but here are a couple of observations, neither related to page counts you'll be relieved to hear:

1. Minor error. In Settings, the first checkbox under the Second Line template still reads 'Make space for author line'. I presume 'author' should now read 'second'.

2. Possible extra option for the 'look and feel' of a real bookshelf. I experimented by leaving both 1st/2nd line templates empty, i.e. no text superimposed on the spine. This just leaves a ghostly cover showing condensed author/title etc, but the words are the right way up, no neck cricks! This may just be me but I quite like it. I'd like it even more if I was also able to make it less ghostly (more opaque, less transparent?). Just a thought...
