Non-Wifi Serial Communication between Kindle and ESP32

Hello,
i am currently working on a small project which has an ESP32 board read information from hardware via Bluetooth which I want to display on a Kindle.
For various reasons I would prefer to to the data connection from the ESP to the Kindle via an usb cable instead of using a Wifi based socket server.
has anyone here experience doing that ?
Can it be done with the normal jailbreak?
So far I only have experience with a socket server connection and both the Kindle and the ESP32 on the same wifi-network.
Thanks!
