I love all of the badger books! I also giggle over the antics.

My spouse loves most of Shelly Laurenston's books under her name and G. A. Aiken. She also laughs while reading the Honey Badger series. OTOH, I tried reading several of them and cold pancakes and no honey was my reaction.

I love her books under G. A. Aiken her Dragon Kin series is also hysterical! Whenever I feel gloomy, I just have to pick up one of her books and I'm happy in no time!

Now the first three books in Julia Huni's six-book follow-on to her "Space Janitor" series, called accurately, but not super-imaginatively, "Tales of a Former Space Janitor", are either free or $0.99/£0.99. These are all KU right now too, but books do fall out of KU sometimes, so I grab if they are free, and even sometimes at the $0.99/£0.99 price too, if I've liked them a lot.

I totally agree with the Aiken/Dragon Kin thing - I too find those fun and funny. But I also have never managed to get into the Badger or other series. I may have to try again, because I keep seeing how (almost) the entire rest of the world loves them, but as of now, not I...

A few months ago, Ilona (Ilona herself, not the duo) Andrews recommended Tears of the Wolf from Elisabeth Wheatley on the IA blog. I picked it up from one of the two or three libraries I have cards with, and liked it a lot, and then drifted off into Wheatley's Daindreth's Assassin series, which has more books in it, and is complete, or at least sure seems to be complete. (Authors can always change their minds ) I binge-read them all.

Now both Tears of the Wolf, and the first Daindreth's Assassin book, titled, well, Daindreth's Assassin, are £0.99 at Kindle UK, although sadly not at Kobo UK.

Tears of the Wolf
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DY2YVXMZ
Kobo UK (for price-check or match): https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/tears-of-the-wolf-1

Daindreth's Assassin
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08XPVMB3B
Kobo UK (for price-check or match): https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/daindreth-s-assassin

And I also noticed, while looking at these, that the sequel to Tears of the Wolf is out now too (Oath of the Wolf), so I'll have to go looking at the library again...

Amanda Bouchet's Beneath the Burning Sea (Kingmaker Chronicles #5) is on sale for $1.99 through Jan 11
Spoiler:
SHE’LL BURN BRIGHT ENOUGH TO RIVAL GODS
Separated from everyone they know and love, sworn warriors (and warring allies) Bellanca and Carver are on a gods-given mission: travel to the famed realm of Atlantis, fight through every danger that awaits them, and find the Shard of Olympus in order to end Atlantis’s generations-long magical punishment—all in Zeus’s name.

Zeus needs an army if he has any hope of stopping Olympus’s bloody coup, and headstrong fire Magoi Bellanca knows it’s her duty to deliver one no matter the cost…to herself, to her own growing magic, or to the man she’s come to desire with all the flames in her heart.

He left everything behind in order to guard her back as she faces down her destiny, and Carver swears that together, they can overcome any obstacle. But finding the shard is no easy task, and it’s not long before Bellanca and Carver are dragged into the center of a deadly game of gods…one not even their combined hearts may be strong enough to survive.

Not on sale, but this is a discussion thread too...

I just re-read my review copy of Jessie Mihalik's Silver & Blood, which is coming out at the end of the month. They had given me the review copy way in advance, several months ago, but I didn't want to do my review that early. But I also wasn't able to persuade myself to wait to read it , so I then had to re-read it just now, to write the review. Which was not a problem at all since I loved it both times. It's a bit trope-ish, but tropes are tropes because they work, and she does them very well IMO.

It's a new direction for Mihalik, romanstasy rather than sci-fi/space opera - really along the lines of her two recent web serials, Books & Broadswords, and Rocks & Rapiers. IMO, if you liked those two, you'll like this one. And if you haven't read those, and want to try out Mihalik's romanstasy style before you buy the new full-length book, she now has a compilation of the two web serials on sale for only $2.99 in the US. And I still would love a t-shirt from the bookstore featured in Books & Broadswords...

Looking forward to this one.

I hope she's able to finish The Consortium Rebellion books at some point in the future. I know she was contracted for a trilogy, but she said she had plans for the remaining siblings.

I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi so either is fine with me.

Joffe's free romance this weekend/Friday, is The War Between Us, which is the first in the Denham Family Sagas by Margaret James.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F1Z1JCKH
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F1Z1JCKH

Spoiler:
Quote:
1914.

War brought them together, now duty threatens to tear them apart.

Rose Courtenay is bound by duty to her wealthy family. She is expected to marry well and continue the family legacy. But when war engulfs Europe, she sees her chance to escape.

She volunteers as a nurse on the Western Front, prepared to face the horrors of the battlefield rather than submit to a life she doesn’t want.

Arriving in France, Rose is immediately thrown into the chaos of war as she tends to injured soldiers. At the hospital she is reunited with Lieutenant Alex Denham, her childhood friend she never thought she’d see again.

The connection between Rose and Alex is instant and, as she nurses him back to health, stolen moments turn into something deeper.

But Alex has a secret, one that binds him to a duty he can’t escape. As war rages around them, Rose and Alex must decide — will they fight for love, or will duty tear them apart once more?

My spouse agrees with your rating on The Shop on Hidden Lane though she felt that it should be in the Fogg Lake series as #4.
