Conversion of dsl dictionaries to stardict
I have uploaded some dictionaries to the link below. Could anyone please convert them to stardict format for KOReader?
I was told that this can be done with Illius' pyglossary, but I don't know how to use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?c...6r3MjFyBzMLLik Last edited by ichnilatis; 09-15-2025 at 09:58 AM. |

I'm really interested in this too as I'm trying to convert a MDX dictionary (Italian - Zingarelli through Dictango app) to the stardict, since it's the perfect match for Koreader...
I'm experiencing the following bug on KOreader + Dictango: when I look up a word and it doesn't exist in its database, the Dictango window get stuck and covers the Koreader one, making it impossible to keep on reading... I have then to force it close or go through the home page and then back to the app... One last mention to this strange behavior: last time I restarted my Palma 2 I had to open the Dictango app otherwise it wouldn't have worked automatically while reading my ebook on koreader (I guess it doesn't wake up the app consequently the first time, as the dictionary function wasn't toggled when requested but the word was simply highlighted by long-pressing) Last edited by giggi10; 10-10-2025 at 10:09 PM. |

Edit
I tried also the pre-installed Neoreader app and the Dictango bug selecting words still persists, so I'll try to get in touch with them in case |

Download pyGlossary:
https://github.com/ilius/pyglossary/releases or the fork of pyGlossary: https://github.com/glowinthedark/pyglossary/releases - as an installation file or as a portable application (.zip), it doesn't matter. Start pyGlossary and open the .dsl or archived .dsl.dz file as input file. The program will automatically recognize the extension. In the bottom field, specify the folder where you want the file to be converted, and as the extension using Select Format, specify StarDict (.ifo). Click Convert. That's all. |
