Kobo Remote causing high battery drain

Been working without a hiccup for 2 weeks on my iPad Mini 7, iPadOS 26.2, Kindle App and Kobo App (works the same on my Android Samsung Fold 7 phone). When I look at Settings on Bluetooth for Devices it lists Kobo Remote Connected. I quit using it with my Kobo Clara BW as the iPad Mini battery lasts longer and the WiFi stays off.

Without remote my Kobo battery lasts at least week.

So I was using the remote with my KLC, no problems.
Turn off wireless/bluetooth with OS shortcuts, turn bluetooth on with nickelmenu. Wireless stays off.
Switched to my Libra 2, worked well for a little while then started losing the connection very consistently and often.
Definitely a difference between the two, so I'd guess it was the hardware on the Libra 2 is causing the problem.

Update! (that was quick lol) Well it works on my iPhone too, after all. It's just that once connected, the iPhone takes a good minute or two to start registering turn pages from the remote, but once it does, it works fine
