KT3 - Kindle shows clock when the minute changes after eips -g

Hi all,

I'm trying to turn my kindle into a wall display (copying https://matthealy.com/kindle), and I'm running into a problem where the kindle automatically displays the clock in the top left of the screen when the minute changes.

Steps to repro:

* ssh into jailbroken KT3 kindle
* run eips -c
* see that the kindle is erased
* run eips -g <some.png>
* see that png is drawn
* wait for the clock to tick over to the next minute
* see the clock is drawn in the top left over the png

See repro video at: https://ragman.net/images/eips_clock.mp4

Is there anyway to prevent the clock from being drawn? I had a look through the forum but couldn't find an answer.

Thank you!

PS. And thank you to everybody who's helped make the jailbreaking/kual tools, it's great to see what an ecosystem there is for this stuff

I'm having the same issue on K3, and I do not know where to run that command. I looked with ps aux but there's no such running process.

Much delayed, but `stop lab126_gui` worked for me, thank you!

@ilikepaper: You need to run the command in a shell on the kindle. Wherever you ran `ps aux` should work. I was root, not sure if you need to be root or not.
