• New In Index: Reworked the “New in index”/latest-plugin notifier to show recently updated plugins (clickable list + concise tooltip). Requires reopening the dialog to take effect.
• Actions Tab: Adds an Actions tab with a Type selector to filter calibre actions (built‑in vs user plugins).
• Modeless Window: The main CCR window is modeless so you can keep it open while interacting with calibre.

• If double clicking a shortcut opens the shortcuts dialog, it would be nice if it also opened at that shortcut. • Shortcuts Tab: double-clicking or enter key press opens at the respective group - thanks @JimmXinu!
• Settings Tab: double-clicking or enter key press should open prefs at respective UI location
• Actions Tab: Added a new tab for viewing and searching calibre actions; double-click or enter opens toolbars & menus prefs
• Advanced Search: Initial implementation. Supports field-based filters (e.g., value:, category: ), operators not and or
• Export Headers: Exported files (.csv or .xlsx) now include descriptive headers, including config dir and timestamp
• Compact button set: Footer includes compact icon buttons for quick access

But not when opened from the context menu… is that by omission or commission?

Commissioned, mostly. I probably wanted to preserve access to native Shortcuts prefs. If I don't recall something immediately it does not necessarily mean omissive.

As for the other issue: I liked the previous behaviour, it's good for at a glance visual comparisons; I'm working to restore it. Can't remember why I needed the change, but it should have been temporary.

• Shortcuts Tab: restore 2.0.11 assigned column logic and add tooltip clarifying adopted terminology
• Preferences dialogs: improve focus behaviour when closing prefs dialogs - focus should return to CCR upon closing them

Now that the CCR window is modeless, I can go to Main window to access the rest of calibre, including native preference dialogues.

If I do that for shortcuts in 2.0.11, when I return focus to CCR the changes I made are shown in the list - haven't tried it in CCR 3.0.

I give focus to the main window, and return focus to CCR via the Taskbar… without using the mouse… no idea if that's doable in Win11, probably not.

Shortcuts table should refresh automatically now-previous version used 'changed active tab' event IIRC and refresh button; for other tabs, say... custom columns? I cant remember, but probably needs to reopen CCR.

That it's not is (for me at least) an instance of ableism. You could add an Open shortcuts preferences button at the bottom for those who don't know how to take advantage of the CCR window being non-modal.

And yep, I will improve that release note. Tooltip is over the dropdown chooser preceded by label 'Show:'.

How about a test version?

I had already changed plugin to provide compatibility for 5.44 version, and had made some other improvements I haven't thoroughly taken note... now also added the suggested button.
