How can I verify that OTA updates are disabled on my Kindle?
Some time ago I followed the guide kindle modding wiki guide to disable ota Updates my Kindle (PW 11 th gen, Firmware 5.15.1.1) via renameotabin extension.
Unfortunately, I no longer remember whether the procedure was completed successfully or how to confirm that it actually took effect. Before I consider turning Wi-Fi back on, I would like to verify that OTA updates are still effectively disabled. My questions are: How can I check whether the OTA-related binaries or services were successfully modified or disabled? Is there a safe way to test OTA blocking without risking an automatic firmware update? |
