New Yorker - have subscription and want to download full issues with Calibre

Hi,
I've been using a custom recipe for the New Yorker magazine since forever and now I just read that it's possible to have it use my subscriber credentials to get full issues. Excited!

At first I thought there was a difference in articles found on the web, in print, and in the epub version. Now I can see the actual difference is just in the way the content is shown in the Main menu.

All the articles are there but are divided into sections that don't mirror the print edition table of contents. That division comes from the online version though it really serves a different purpose there. On the web when you click on, say, Brave New World Dept., the red line that precedes this weeks article on that subject, you are taken to a page with all articles in that "department" regardless of the date. So, it's not really a Calibre recipe issue at all and who doesn't like the cute "department" names the magazine comes up?


For anyone else needing a quick start on making the change to get the whole magazine, here's what I did:


My only code change is to add

    needs_subscription = True

after

class NewYorkerCom(BasicNewsRecipe):

in order to activate the mechanism in News to collect my login/password.

P.S. Some days I solve my little issues by writing about them and discover the answer from the exercise of describing what I thought was a problem. Funny how it works that way!
