Most of them are planned, but they usually drive me crazy because I do a lot of research and it ends up being a difficult or impossible purchase (I collect things). And curiously, when I have an impulsive purchase, everything goes too well; I have no problem with the shipping or the seller. But for that item I've been looking for for months, everything is difficult.

PS: Buying Kindle Dx DM!

Mine are almost always planned and my wife's are almost completely random. We browse our local indie once a week when we pick up takeout and we almost always come out with at least one book. Some are planned if I am looking for something, and the rest are whatever catches the eye.
