News Fetch naming
I decided to give the news downloading feature of Calibre a fresh look after failing to find it useful a couple of years ago. (Not Calibre's fault)
When using a couple of the standard sources the ebook metadata/naming is pretty poor. Example for Engadget: Title: 4dkogpaq_recipe_out Author: calibre Tags: News, Engadget Date: 29 Dec 2025 Ideally the Title should either be the date of download, or a combination of date of download and source. The Author should also be set to the source, not calibre. Is this possible or am I going to have to deal with random filenames? |

Does not reproduce for me. Sounds almost like you have disabled reading metadata from filenames. The title is always set to the source name. And the author is always set to calibre, that's not going to change.
