New Clara Colour question
I’ve have my Clara Colour for 5 days so just finding my way around. I used Calibre to put some books on it. I read the first one with no problems. The second one seemed OK but then would freeze and then the Clara would reboot itself with no input from me. After it did that a couple of times over several hours, I deleted the book and replaced it with Calibre. It seemed OK for a couple of hours, then it did it again.
I don’t know if the problem is the ebook or the Kobo. I am not sure what my next move should be. I am thinking of doing a factory reset. Guidance appreciated. |

The book, probably.
Open it in the calibre editor and check for errors, then have the editor auto-fix them. Often this helps. If not, check the file structure in the book - if there is one huge html file instead of each chapter having its own file, splitting that file into multiple parts would help too. Alternately, you could try to convert the book to kepub - the kepub reader on a Kobo is less sensitive to various structural and formatting issues than the epub reader. |

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am afraid that I am tech challenged when it comes to editing files. I opened it in the editor and it looked like greek to me LOL. I selected check and it found 114 errors. Auto-fix didn't seem to do much. I did an epub to epub conversion. That actually got the errors down to 14 but auto-fix didn't seem to do anything again. I did a coversion to kepub and I will load that and see what happens.
Is there somewhere to learn ebook editing 101? I wouldn't mind learning something about it. |

You may also want to take a quick read through the EPub Tutorial in the MobileRead wiki.
Dated but still useful. Just remember to save a copy of your ePub so if everything goes wrong, you can revert to the original copy. |

Meanwhile, I am liking my new Kobo very much. I might even get brave enough to try to install Nickel Clock. |
