I need a new reader..

Well this is enough to confuse me, I don't like to think I'm easily confused, but I'm looking at the Kobos Colour, and I like the price. But, I had to look this statement up on google to know whether I was getting a Color e-reader, or a Paperwhite. I don't understand the technology, but I still think this would be an E-reader, plus the ability to write on the screen/draw etc.

I'll link the review-video so any comments on his review are also welcome. I prefer the honesty I can get, a true experience of folks on this forum, over videos that earn money if you click their link

The title of one I found on Amazon says:

"Kobo Libra Colour White eReader with Case Bundle" which I see means:

The word "Colour" denotes its screen capabilities, whereas "White" specifies the external plastic color variant (as opposed to black).

Opinions on this one that I clicked the link on video, a better deal, maybe, if I go for a Kobo

It's an ereader with an eink screen.

The screen type of the Libra Colour is the same that the Kindle Colorsoft uses. Both are eink with a color overlay.

Eink doesn't mean the ability to write on the screen, it means a totally different screen type and technology. Look it up on Wikipedia, if you want.

You might want to take a look at the PC Magazine reviews as they detail a lot of the features:

Also, you might want to prowl around on YouTube as some of the reviewers do a good job of pointing out the different features.

I also want a case to go with this, if I get the Kobo. I'm still hoping for more info, before I order one though. I think it sounds good but I will take one persons advice and make the list of things I "now" want. I really didn't know what I wanted before. Learned a lot so far.

Anyone who uses a case, input on that too is welcome. I like having a case as it's kept my Kindles like new, not that I have a clue what good they are now with the new tech

The link on the 199.00 deal is good, but doesn't come with a case. I see with buying a case separately would save me a few bucks:

These are just "needs" I can think of right now. It has audio ability but it probably isn't as good as my Android phone I use for audiobooks now. I also don't know how "fast" this would be. My Kindle has always been slow. Now it is jerky on page turning.

Oh, do I just use the buttons for page turning on the Kobo? I just tap the screen now, but I could get used to that since the buttons are so handy

You can use buttons, screen tap or screen swipe for page turning.

It's probably faster than your Fire, but not as fast as computers and phones.

I do understand, but thank you for reminding me these things never match computers, but yes, my phone is fast too!! Didn't think about that.

I see I messed up not hearing, or seeing that the Stylus Pens you have to have with the Kobo Libra Colour are sold separately. Nothing stupid about developers, or sellers to sell you on something but don't mention it up-front.

Oh well, I'll just have to decide how much it's all worth to me

The kobo audio as far as I know can only be got from kobo. I vaguely recall that there is a very basic mp3 player in it but I haven't got one so can't tell you much about it. I think your phone may be the better bet here Denise.
I expect some nice kobo users will follow this and be able to help more.

I agree Martin, as it works fine, and I do love the other options on the Kobo, but still have some sound if I want to try it. I also like using my Libby Library app and that I can get on Kobo as well

I went ahead and made a decision, and ordered the Kobo Libra Colour. I didn't go for a bundle cost as it was less expensive to get the stylus pen (Kobo Libra 2024 compatible) and a nice case, for the 7" separate. The link only offered the white color for the Kobo Libra Colour but that's ok, the case will help it stay "white"

Below is the link I used to get the KLC if anyone else is interested. I am nervous but Amazon has a good return policy if anything doesn't work right. I'm excited about going with Kobo books most of all and I really like so much about what I've read. My Android is fine for audio-books.

Thank you, we'll see how it goes, it shipped today, but I don't know from where, but delivery they think the 3rd of Jan.

I will come back and let you all know what I think of it for sure
