Troubleshooting Is anyone else unable to send epubs to kindle right now?

I keep getting e999 error. I have tried on iOS and the desktop across various different Epubs and always the same issue

I can't send them to my Kindle Scribe with Calibre. I also have an error message when opening the book on the Kindle.
It worked before. I have the latest firmware for the Scribe and the latest version of Calibre.

It must be Calibre as I can no longer open a flashcard that I created 1 month ago, after installing the 5.18.6 firmware.

Just sent one up to check, seems to be working fine.

Windows 10 PC. Method, Send-to-Kindle web page. Might've taken an extra minute to process, but nothing dramatic. Epub 3.0 is one of my own making, so I know it has no errors or issues.

It's on my Oasis now.

Best of luck figuring it out, but the service does appear to be up and working as normal.

For what little it may be worth, I sent an ePub3 via calibre email and it arrived at my Paperwhite without issues. I also tried Send to Kindle and it also worked though there was a 30 minute delay between sending and receiving the book.

I solved the problem by changing the format in the "Send to Device" options.
I selected the KFX format, which works. AZW3 no longer works for me. Even the AZW3 files that I could open before. It must be the latest firmware.

I opened a port with my router and send via IP, Works for all kindles (including the old ones) u need to enter wikipedia and use there the url bar to tipe the ip.

Send to Device in Calibre is not related to Send to Kindle. Calibre uploads to Send to Kindle through the Connect/Share email function.

Kindle's do not handle ePub unless you jailbreak and run KOReader.

2. What types of files can I import?
You can import:

Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF
Presentations: PPT, Google Slides (Google Drive only)
Images: PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP
Web files: HTM, HTML
Books: EPUB
Google Docs (Google Drive only)
Note: Files must be under 200 MB. Files above this limit or not in one of the supported file formats will be greyed out and marked “Not compatible.”

I have yet to see a detailed walk-through of this feature. So far only PDFs are mentioned.

I assume USB side-loads won't trigger conversion to a Kindle format (because it is not documented), but it is conceivable they could add this ability later.

For that matter, they could also add GD/OD/ON integration to any Kindle.

That strikes me as bizzare, and I don't think that the on device conversion part is explicit in the cited documentation. My speculation is that amazon made arrangements with google and microsoft to do conversion on the cloud side. That is also somewhat bizarre, so we will have do see. Maybe the cloud requirement only applies to the google and microsoft proprietary formats.

If the conversion really is on device and cloud download is required, that is a good way to piss off anyone that doesn't want either of those cloud services and is a strong incentive to find a way to trigger on device conversion of USB transferred content on jailbroken devices.
