This thread is confusing. This is only AI thing I see. Be nice if way to disable the tab because I wouldnt use it but people acting like its everywhere is weird.

EDIT: I also found some menu items in Similar Books and View, but they just error or tell me to configure provider.

Yes. All this is inactive unless you have configured an AI provider.

Lots of folks are dead set against the mere idea of the AI code being in calibre, even if inactive by default. Well, tough. Kovid said he's not ditching it.

Personally I don't care whether it's there or available by a separate plugin.

There's also a Toolbar/Menu item "Discuss book with AI"

I entered the AI Key from Google. Now when I enter a request I get "HTTP Error 400 Bad Request" I know the problem is mine but any help appreciated.

What columns did you check to be sent? Leave only title and author, then it should work.

Columns? I have no Fields checked. In Settings - Metadata it says Title and Author are always sent. And in Quick actions I have tried it with all items checked and unchecked.

Yes, I meant the fields in Metadata. Leave them unchecked. If that doesn't help, then sorry, I'm out of ideas. Google AI is working for me.

Yeah, but it will take a bit of time to this tweak to reach public release since Kovid, in the meantime, accepted to merge and work on a pretty big new feature: a Bookshelf view that put your books, side by side on shelves.
The feature is still not ready for beta test.
