Daniel wrote this song in 1983 about his older brother, who would become his manager around two years later. A year or so after Daniel's death I read that that Vans was making a collaborative DJ clothing line with licensed art from his estate, which his brother was now the sole executor of. When me and some friends drove to a Vans store to see them we were greeted by a screen-printed Hi How Are You t-shirt for around $45, with a hoodie and a pair of skate shoes that both had DJ album covers randomly plastered on them in a checkered pattern(?) and each cost a whopping $80 a piece. We stared at them for about 10 minutes and walked out of the store in complete silence. When I got home the official DJ twitter account said that his estate was minting a series of his drawings into NFTs. I was not able to get this song out of my head for the next 3 days
