Covers not displaying when sleeping
With some books (not all), the cover image is not displayed when my Libra 2 is sleeping. The cover is in the book, and displays correctly as a thumbnail in the book list, but when sleeping all I see is title and format.

What controls what is displayed when the device sleeps? Is there maybe some faulty metadata in the book? What should I look for?

TIA for any advice...

Restart the Kobo. (Not factory reset, just power off and on)

Also I recommend - if you don't usually power off the Libra - installing Nickelmenu and adding a Reboot option and use it sometimes to avoid such shenanigans like this.

One thing that the Kobos don't like is updating an ebook rather than removal and re-adding. That affects covers as well as the more obvious reading position, bookmarks, highlights and annotations. Save Annotations first (but you can't write them back).

I always highlight typos as annotations as I read, then correct, delete and re-upload.

Of course, since I wrote this, I uploaded a couple more books and the problem spontaneously fixed itself without restarting.

But, thanks. I'll try a reboot next time I see it happen.

Not so. I've updated some eBooks and sent them to replace the existing eBook on my H2O and Libra 2 and I've had no problem. I'm set to treat the new copy as the same as the existing copy.

Well, it's not recommended and does cause problems. I guess like having a T1 that doesn't freeze, you've been lucky.
See also upgrading to Windows 11 on unsupported HW. Or Calibre Database & book files via network.
I saw loads of dodgy stuff work, for some people, and then it didn't, when I did IT support.
