IMO, 7" is a compromise size and not a sweet spot at all, good only if you're going to read on only one device, as it's not ideal for (my own, of course) general use purposes. 8" is best for armchair reading, 6" is best for out-and-about and bed.

7" is too big for several of my purses and is harder to whip out on the spot even when it does fit; it's also bigger than I want to one-hand in bed. It's also not pocketable, at least not for my pockets. OTOH, I vastly prefer the bigger acreage of a 7.8" to 8" device when I'm sitting in my armchair; fewer page turns, more immersive reading.

I suspect most here are willing to run to more than one device, especially since they likely have older devices still in play. It's not as if they have to buy a new ereader wardrobe in one fell swoop.

I don't want all of those Readers. But the problem is that if anyone wants a Reader without color and larger then 6", I want to be able to be able to recommend a Kobo. So Kobo really needs to update everything over 6" and they need new BW models and not just really poor color models.

This is where we differ. I find the Libra 2 easy to hold in one hand and also I find it portable enough in my bag. It just fits. 8" would be too big for out and about. I agree that 8" would be good for at home.

I can see some using a 6" for out and about and a larger 7"-8" for at home.

I like my Libra 2.
How could I get another - used or new - for a friend?

I’ve been looking for one in the marketplaces as well, but it looks like kl2 users are holding on to their readers I can only find badly scratched up models for sale.

I don’t think you can find new, but maybe refurbished.

I’d just buy an Onyx Go 7 BW at this point. It’s a good ereader, and I can’t really think of anything against it. But if a nice Kobo comes out later, you can always sell the Onyx and get the Kobo. IF a worthy Kobo ever comes out…

I got him to buy a Kobo Clara BW and I set it up for him to do sideloading.
He's managing OK.
But it's not as good as the Libra 2.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but the Auras don't have page turn buttons, correct? They are symmetrical? So a Sage is a poor replacement, if you want a symmetrical device.

I cannot see an Aura shaped Kobo coming out. But given that we did not see Kobo dropping the Libra 2, who knows.
