PRS-T1 Stuck on "Opening Book"

Heya!

I just got a Sony PRS-T1 yesterday and was very excited about it! In my excitement I may have become overzealous and tried to port over to many EPUBs, which caused the device to lag.

In trying to remedy this, I tried to soft reset the device but it's been stuck on "Opening Book..." basically ever since. After a while, it will stop displaying "Opening Book" and just flash black and white.

I've looked at various posts on this forum and attempted recovery methods such as the SD card method, with no luck. I'm unsure if it's because the device is not reading the SD or some other fundamental issue.

Any insight would be appreciated! Even if it's to tell me it's a lost cause and she's bricked </3

Try pressing the reset button with a small paperclip. It's the small hole near where the charge port is.

Hi, thanks for the response! I've already tried soft resetting via the reset button multiple times, unfortunately. It just restarts and loads the full bar of the "opening book" display, but never progresses further. I can't do a hard reset as a result.

Maybe try plugging the PRS-T1 into a computer and deleting the book(s)?

I've also tried this to no avail. My reader won't show the "allow data transfer" dialogue, so I'm basically locked out of reading the device via PC, I'm in a bootloop.

I've tried some other fixes from this forum/ wiki, such as trying to "boot into recovery console" via an SD card, but I don't think my device is reading the SD card I'm putting into it. The SD card may be too new.
