Secondhand Oasis Issues

Gifted a Kindle Oasis, charged up and turned on. Every thing was working on previous's owners account. Reset to factory, and now it boots kindle splash, no loading bar, goes to white. Have tried multiple USB ports and cables. Verified my existing Kindle connects to PC, shows up at drive. Secondhand Oasis shows up in Explorer as USB drive, but no media on it "please insert disk into USB Drive: F"

Uninstalled device, updated drivers, rebooted, restarted, nothing.

Former owner was Mac user, doing this on PC cause nothing at all showed up when I plugged into MacOS.

Is the hard drive fried from the factory reset? It was just working! Have spent a few hours on this already, what do I try next? Thank you!

2: 1st 7″
3: 2nd 7″ and maybe last version.

I had no problem with S/H #2 (Linux & Calibre) and passed it to person who had no problem re-registering (Windows user), but that was a while ago.

Best I can tell its the latest 7" Oasis. From 2019?
I don't think I can even get Calibre on it, its reading as empty media. I'm stumped.

Leave on charge and try the whatever is magic sequence for absolute reset the next day.

I've had the K3 go like that and recover.

No point in Calibre till it boots and you can see files.

FWIW, you don't "get" Calibre on a Kindle. You use Calibre to put media on it. Calibre runs entirely on your computer.
