I have the white version and am pretty happy with it. But had I known about the contrast I might've gotten the black one. |

Yes, I did see that and I'm planning on getting the black one.
I would have liked to get a color one just because, but when I read about how dark the screen is, I decided to pass on it, but since the only things that are color are the covers, it's no big loss. |

Recently, among Android-based devices, the one that impressed me the most was the BOOX Onyx GO 7.
It was so impressive, and its customization options convinced me enough to buy it. I'm from France, so I don't know how much it costs outside the EU, but the retail price is around ~ €240, which is more than reasonable. After a very long time, I experienced a true WOW effect upon unboxing and powering it on for the first time. The black model offers excellent contrast and text sharpness (E-INK 1300), has an integrated Google Play store, runs very smoothly, and considering it's powered by Android 13, the battery life is surprisingly long. Built-in speakers, the ability to listen to audiobooks, and ENOTES with a stylus are just extra bonuses. It works flawlessly with apps like Kindle, Kobo, Pocketbook and Koreader. The only thing to note is that in some apps, you need to adjust the function of the side buttons so they turn pages instead of controlling the volume. For me, it's clearly the BOOX Onyx 7 (Black version). In the black version, because in the white variant—although it's the exact same device—a different type of glass is used, and many people complain about light leakage around the edges. There is also Inkbook, it's european brand which I had no idea existed. Sadly, I can't find review of device anywhere, but it does look nice.

In case anyone is interested, I found this YouTube review comparing the Inkbook Solaris with the Boox Go 6. (For non-Polish speakers, the auto translate captions seemed to do a decent enough job).
