Export Size

Hello, when I export my Calibre library, it generates a bunch of files named `part-nnnn.calibre-data`, each 1.1GB in size.

Is there any way to tell Calibre to make these files a different size?

For example, 4.5GB.

Thanks

I would say that increasing the maximum split file size is not a good idea. The limit on the split file size is to prevent issues with exceeding the maximum file size on different OS. Yes, most current disk formats can handle much larger file sizes. OTOH, FAT32 often used on removable disks is limited to 4GB.

That file size is probably a combination of legacy things:
OS file size limits is probably tops.
Remember Import/Export was designed to work across OS, not just on all OS.
This allows you to go from, say XP to Linux
We have evolved, but there ar folk that still use XP (and 32bit OS).

No there isnt. The file size is limited to 1GB for reasons of robustness across different platforms as others have already mentioned.
