Unhappy Sideloaded book not opening out of the blue.

I sideloaded a book on my kindle PW through send-to-kindle method. All went fine till one month. I read the book on my android kindle app on my phone as well as on my PW.

All of a sudden out of nowhere, the book became kind of unavailable on my PW device. When I click on the book in the library, it says 1% downloading, then I click on it and then the process starts again. I can read it fine on my Android phone in Kindle app. When my kindle is in airplane, mode, it asks me to turn on the wi-fi to download the book. But the book never gets downloaded.

In the manage content page in my Amazon account, the books shows up being in 2 content devices i.e. my phone and my paperwhite device.

I tried restarting my device but the problem still remained. Then I hard pressed the power button and did a force restart. When the device restarted, I connected to wi-fi and the book opened.

Then after I turned on the airplane mode, the situation returned to square one where the book doesn't open and I always see "queued" and "1% downloading"


My Kindle PW is up-to-date.

What should I do so that I can read the book in my PW device now? I wish I could remove it from my device and re-sync it without losing my highlights but that option can't be found in my Amazon UI in browser, neither my Kindle device.

There was an AWS outage yesterday, and it might have killed Send To Kindle service for several hours.

I don't understand. You're saying that AWS had an outage on 20th October, but I've been facing the problem since probably 12th or 13th October.

And the book was already delivered to my device long time ago as I mentioned. How does AWS outage on 20th October affect this and what should I do to fix this problem?

Delete the book from your Kindle then go to tour content library at Amazon and resend it to your kindle.
