Tools Recompiled USBNetLite for >5.18.2 (hard float)

As some other threads have mentioned, SSH on 5.18.2 and up was broken due to an incompatible version of libcrypt.

I've recompiled a copy of Marek's USBNetLite and verified that it works on 5.18.5.

Installation Instructions:

1. Download Update_usbnetlite_1.2.4_install_khf.bin
2. Place it into the mrpackages folder on your kindle
3. Run ;log mrpi from the search bar
4. Profit! You should be able to control usbnetlite from KUAL

So, I guess this means that you've managed to persist a jailbreak after the upgrade to 5.18.5? I know it's been documented to persist on earlier non-jailbroken firmwares and I have often asked if someone has tested persisting when a new version is released, but I haven't seen anything about .5 yet.

Yeah, hotfix worked fine for me with the usual KUAL reinstall

There have been several other reports that the jailbreak persisted with 5.18.5. No guarantee that it works on all devices.

Only realised when trying this on my 11th gen PW, not all >5.18.2 devices will need this version (libcrypt.so.2). To avoid any future confusion:

Winterbreak did NOT persist for me after upgrading to 5.18.5 from 5.17.0. Hotfix and KUAL gave "The selected application could not be started. Please try again." I had to factory reset and install AdBreak (God bless hhhhhhhhh).

I jailbreaked with AdBreak and I'm on version 5.18.5.0.1 on a a Paperwhite 11th gen and seemingly installed properly.

I'm finding out that while it appears that the USB networking interface works (I'm plugged into the Kindle to the my MacBook and it's not going into charging mode) if I check the status of the USB network, it appears that sshd can't be enabled.

Marek's original version should work on the 11th gen PW, the recompiled version is only needed for some models: https://github.com/notmarek/kindle-usbnetlite
